FASHION #87 Homeless' luck & stylish job interview

Corina Koekenbier general manager at Dress For Succes Amsterdam: “We have to take more initiative to keep on going professional with this volunteer organisation. I try probeer to think more commercial. That is why we help freelancers with paid workshops at our store in Slotermeer to shine when they pitch. A little extra service next to our regular stlying advises.”

I have got a call from a 54-years-old lady that she needs a job. She sells Street newspapers (Z-krant). These newspapers or magazines are sold by homeless or poor individuals and produced mainly to support these populations.

She wanted to ask social support but her income and the support are almost the same (her income now is 70% of her optional support sum) so she started to look for a 'real' job. I always wanted to make her a makeover (hair + makeup + cloths) so this is my chance because this Friday I have to introduce her to her new boss. Amsterdam is famous about King's Day (April 27th). Hotels are fully booked. So it is not a wonder that one of my friends need a cleaner. A full time job at a tiny 1 star hotel.

My makeover plans are under water: she does not want hair styling. Someone cutted her extra long hair once and she hates hairdressers. I can make a light makeup for her with M·A·C products (M·A·C All That Glitters eye shadow). We wanna visit Dress For Succes Amsterdam because my size is 36, she has size 34. Just I need to figure it out what is the phone number of the store. It is open between 10 AM. till 4PM.
I have amazing experience with the ladies at the store. I needed shoes size 41 when I applied long time ago at a kitchen shop. They hired me. People who apply succesfully they receive a second set of cloths if they go back. The focus is on succes.

I am just reading that they are closed on King's Day and the day after. So tomorrow... She goes alone.
