FASHION #84 Last Monday was World Theatre Day. 🎭

Image
Last Monday was World Theatre Day.  The International Theatre Institute organizes programs since 1961 to celebrate art. I celebrated my own way: I tweeted a picture from 45 European cities. Capitals mostly. European theatres have long history. But you can backpack and enjoy culture in 45 days. I already did half of the work for you. One of them struggles: The National Theatre's roof of Nicosia, Cyprus is collapsed. @cyprusmail tweeted about the tragedy on March 26. They already spent €8.7 million for renovation. In 2013, the state theatre company (Thoc) opened its new 500-seat theatre on the grounds of the old GSP stadium and located very close to the municipal theatre. - Cyprusmail writes.   Which 45 theatres I visited virtually? I started with Amsterdam my loved city. Its one of the biggest and oldest stages;  Schouwburg Amsterdam   @ssba. It is host to  Toneelgroep Amsterdam  and many congresses. It is located in the city center an...

Image
How was your day? A busy job day or you went to the church? A 98 years old lady did something touching. Evelin's story is exemplary. Not because she is 98 and als not because she did a huge thing but after reading you will have a feeling you want to do something for your neightbor. I've just got an elegant white shirt from my neightbor. Last minute borrow. Thanks Palmira. Back to Evelin. One day she lost her driving licence. Someone thaught she is too old. She and her best friend lives in a retiredment community. There was no bus connection between the senior community center and the town where they could shop. Her friend was so said that she promised her to get the driving licence again. So said, so done. She passed on the exams and now she drives her best friend to the town to shop together: fresh fruit, milk products etc. Please vote for this special project that shows the beauty of the human race! , press the button 'Stemmen', in the video: https://ww...

FREEDOM #81 Het Verlangen is out!

Image
Joram Lürsen's new comedy,  Het Verlangen  is out! I wrote about the shoot of the movie a while ago. Click on the title to read my article about. If you just moved to the Netherlands and you still learn Dutch, humor is good for practice. Does not matter how much you understand, it will be fun anyway.  Why you need to watch it?   If you are workaholic like me sometimes you need a break. With your boyfriend or alone. Just load the battery. A light Dutch comedy is ideal for taking that moment. If you do not go to cinema every week than it will be a memorable go-out. Who must watch it?   If you saw 'Alles is liefde' or 'Alles is familie' than it is your movie. I've baught the DVD 'Alles is liefde' and took it to Hungary. As Christmas present. My mom does not speak Dutch or English but the message was clear (and funny). So I am curious about this new Lürsen movie. What you miss if you choose for an other movie? Chantal Janzen, Cynt...
